Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day Community Art Celebration

Friends of Mill Ridge Park invites all community members to celebrate Ruby Bridges Foundation Walk to School Day with a special community art installation on Thursday, November 14th, from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Join us as local students and community members showcase their artwork along Mill Ridge Park's quarter-mile paved walking loop, reflecting their vision for a better community. We encourage everyone to not only view the art but also create your own pieces that highlight themes of green spaces, equitable transportation, diversity, and inclusivity. Together, we can foster creativity and meaningful conversations about the future of our community. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

MOVE CLUB: In honor of Ruby Bridges and the spirit of Walk to School Day, we also invite you to join our Mill Ridge Park MOVE CLUB from 3-5PM for a special gathering that celebrates the freedom to be mobile and the importance of safe, accessible pathways for all. This inclusive group welcomes walkers, joggers, rollers, and runners of all levels to explore the park while cultivating fellowship and community. Participants will have the opportunity to do laps around the paved walking loop, reflecting on the significance of mobility and connection as we enjoy the community art along the way.

We look forward to celebrating with you at both events as we honor Ruby Bridges' legacy and promote a shared vision for a brighter, more connected future!
