Community Care with Puppies

Join us for a free community cookout on Friday, March 7th, 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with games, arts and crafts, and special guests: PUPPIES from Retrieving Independence!

ABOUT THE PUPPIES!!!

The puppies are available for petting and cuddling courtesy of our friends at Retrieving Independence. These puppies are service dogs in training who will go on to assist individuals living with disabilities, or work in school helping students and teachers. They are currently learning to be confident, to have good manners, and to socialize well before they begin their formal training. Since these pups are in training, we ask that you read and respect a couple of rules and guidelines:

Please wait for permission of the puppy handler to pet or cuddle – they will let both you and the puppy know when it’s okay to snuggle!

Some puppies may take a brief break from cuddles or pets (they are young, learning, and need a break from work just like us!). If a puppy is on a break, please leave them be 😊

If you are bringing your own pup to this outing at the park, please ensure that they are on leash, and that someone else is available to handle them outside if you wish to come into the Friend’s house to visit the puppies!

DIRECTIONS: Yellow flags and orange cones will mark the entrance to the Friends’ House, located at 12965 Old Hickory Blvd, Antioch, 37013. Park in the grass lot along the gravel driveway.
