Nature Watch Book Club
1:30PM on Sunday, September 17th — Join us for a yearlong bookclub and observation in nature and community. During 2023, we have been reading along in The Forest Unseen: A Year’s Watch in Nature, by David George Haskell and revisit a chosen space in the Mill Ridge Park forest while we learn from guest specialists about topics from the readings and observations. Each participant will receive a copy of the book plus supplies and gadgets to enhance the experience.
Each member is invited to commit to this yearlong participatory group experience with one prescheduled park visit every 3 months. For September’s meeting, we will read pages 131-183. After our discussion, we’ll head to the cedar glade for observations and collect data on pollinators for the Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz. We will gather at the Friends’ House located at 12965 Old Hickory Blvd, Antioch 37013.
Participation is free and limited; registration is required. Email katherine@southeastpark.org to express interest, get more information, or register.
