Winter Wellness Challenge
Friends of Mill Ridge Park invites Southeast Davidson County to take part in our Winter Wellness Challenge! From Saturday, December 21st, 2024 to Thursday, March 20th, 2025 we’re reimagining winter as an opportunity to stay active, healthy, and connected with nature and each other.
The Challenge:
This challenge is about embracing winter as a time for physical, emotional, and community well-being. We’re providing opportunities for everyone to enjoy Mill Ridge Park, no matter the season.
Why We’re Doing It:
Winter doesn’t have to mean retreating indoors! This challenge encourages our community to stay engaged and moving, whether it’s exploring a new trail, volunteering, or practicing mindfulness. Our goal is to help you stay connected to YOUR community, the outdoors, and your own well-being while enjoying all that Mill Ridge Park has to offer.
Goal:
Complete 30 activities between Saturday, December 21st and Thursday, March 20th! That’s roughly one activity every 2-3 days. Choose from a variety of activities (you can repeat or try new ones) that encourage both active and passive participation.
What Counts as a Participation?
Each time you participate in an activity from the challenge list – whether it’s hiking, birdwatching, volunteering, attending an event, or practicing mindfulness in the park – you count it as one participation. The activities are designed to be flexible, so you can engage at your own pace and enjoy the experience!
It’s All About Variety:
Our challenge offers a mix of activities. Some days you might hike or volunteer, other days you can relax with a book or meditate by the pond. Choose activities that fit your schedule and keep it interesting!
Flexible and Fun:
You don’t need to follow a strict order. The goal is 30 participations by March 20th. Miss a day? No problem – just jump back in! This challenge is about making winter fun and accessible for everyone.
